Implementation
You Don't Have to Read the Manual.
VistaOne has a defined, predictable, easily understood process for everything. Our five-step Packeteer implementation package includes our unique and ever-so-customer-friendly Right & Ready Hand-Off program. It guarantees you a comprehensive approach to installation and the instant gratification of getting full immediate maximum value from the stuff (i.e., it works like you expect). We can give you every process detail if and when you need them but because reciting them could be tedious and you could be a competitor, we’ll consider it beyond the scope here.
Step One: We receive your PacketShaper(s) and everything that goes with it (them) at our place. We run our pre-installation routines that include software installs, pre-configuration and testing.
Step Two: We show up at your place with install-ready PacketShapers and all cabling and equipment including any LAN expansion modules, connectors, workarounds and miscellaneous stuff. (Unlike your plumber, we try to have the right “parts” with us.) Then we get to work. By the time we’re through, you’re on a browser, watching your Shaper populate data traffic.
Step Three: Here’s where VistaOne’s Right & Ready Hand-Off gives you the “keys” and prepares you to drive. Available regardless of where you purchase your PacketShaper (not that you’d go anywhere else), the Hand-Off happens on-site at your place. Our objective is to see that your versions are up to date, your plug-ins are functioning and everything works according to your plan.

The Right & Ready Hand-Off 1. VistaOne prepares for and installs the requested packet shaping applications, reviewing backups, plug-ins and other settings for optimal operation. |
Step Four: Fine Tuning Round One takes place remotely, approximately two weeks after installation. Essentially, we reset some bells, adjust some whistles and begin customizing applications to best fit your needs. At each step in the process, you’ll learn more and more about the intricacies of packet shaping (think peeling the ol’ onion).
Step Five: Fine Tuning Round Two happens around four weeks after the Right & Ready Hand-Off and underscores what we did in Step Four. In our experience, users need the additional “stick-time” between Fine Tuning One and Fine Tuning Two to experiment and fully absorb the information to optimize their Packeteer deployments.
Pretty much everything we do is geared to getting you the most from your WAN optimization investment and making sure that your organization stays satisfied with the results. That, and we want you to like us. Also, we’re a little anal about networks being squared away.
