Riverbed Evaluation Program Scope of Work
Overview
VistaOne's Riverbed Evaluation Program (REP) is designed as a maximum 30 day NO-RISK approach to allow you to properly assess the value of deploying Riverbed WAN Acceleration solutions in your network infrastructure. To support the REP, VistaOne coordinates access to all Riverbed Packeteer hardware and software, plus up to 10 hours of Riverbed Certified Engineer (RCE) expertise, at no charge. Your organization is under no obligation to place an order for the Steelheads subsequent to the REP.
Upon receipt of your SOW submittal, VistaOne's RCE will contact you to finalize an installation date (see Section II below), and to establish procedures for remote access to the Steelhead devices. The installation date should coincide with a 5-10 day period that best allows you to invest approximately 10 hours to work with our engineer to support your final decision to move forward, or not, on the purchase of the Riverbed solution.
Process
1. VistaOne consults with you on the proper models to evaluate.
2. Download the Riverbed evaluation form, fill it out with the agreed upon model, and either scan & email or fax the signed Riverbed evaluation document back to VistaOne.
3. VistaOne places the order for the Steelhead evaluation equipment and advises you of tracking information. Expect approximately a two-week turn-around time from equipment order to Installation Date.
4. Upon receipt of the Steelhead appliances, two hours are scheduled to complete the physical installation and an overview demonstration. This session is conducted via telephone and web-conference. Note that Installation can be in-line, or out of path.
5. A "results meeting" will be scheduled based upon an estimate of time required to "see" 100MB of data through the Steelhead. The results meeting will demonstrate overall optimized traffic, bytes-saved, and equivalent throughput (e.g. 1 T1 performs like a 10MBps circuit).
6. VistaOne provides a Quote from which a decision to buy or not is made.
